Street Warriors was a business plan created by Michael Lee &
he recommended to his badminton Coach Chor Hooi Yee.
The whole setup objective was to sponsor passionate Badminton players who lack the chance to continue their dreams in badminton career. In return, creating a well-known group of members with the right attitude and characters, who are willing to joint hand to give back to the needed society through charitable activities.
Michael Lee request his committee friends were supposed to invite in qualified Badminton players to the group, sponsoring those qualified players with FREE full time 5 1/2 days training per week.
The Michael Lee has request the Committees need to create a group with the right attitudes and complete business plan without any issue or obstacles before the fund can be invested in to run this new setup named Street Warriors (under corporate CSR program). Month of December 2014 and January 2015 was a probation period for everyone before the funder put in his investment & launched the program from 5th
February 2015, however legal issue had happened to the Michael Lee business account. The Michael Lee worried that if the launch were to continue, it would only bring negative impact/impression to the whole program since it is not an income generating organization. The Committees working together with the funder guidance had been scratching their head to resolve issues so this CSR program can be continue.
NO MONEY or SPONSORSHIPS were requested from anyone anywhere. Expenses was paid by the Chor Hooi Yee and her Committees Friends (an estimate amount over RM800K)
All players and coaches were aware of the details of the whole setup. They were skeptics at 1st because no money was requested and the Michael Lee request all the Committees member to pay each with an allowance if they were chosen to be part of the group AFTER it is officially launch. Furthermore during the course of the training, expenses was paid by Chor Hooi Yee and her Committees Friends. Since it's without the needs of any monetary investment and everyone had the chance to train and play Badminton in a happy environment, in the end all members believe in it and were willing to take the chance to work together and build up the good name of this organization. ( They never know that is scram)
Some National players heard about it and were attracted to join like Tan Boon hoong and Khoo Kian Kie and ect… However since it is made known to everybody it is not about monetary remuneration, but the idea of 2nd chance to those without the financial support to play in BWF tournaments, many of which was rejected from joining in after careful selection.
As time goes by, some coaches and players suffered from MAYBE poor self financial management, so they began to question the Michael Lee true intentions. The Michael Lee had ask all members if they still believe in him, if no, they are welcome do leave the group. We guess that not everyone have the right strong mental to go through this hard times together. In the end some left the group and some even started to attack on the Chor Hooi Yee and her Committees friends, posting out Chor Hooi Yee and her Committees in FB. Some even call it a SCAM, however they have forgotten that there was no money requested from them. ( But Michael Lee keep request the money form the Chor Hooi Yee and committees member)
The Michael had Intimidation the committees many times whether if this setup should continue if not yours can’t get claim back the money.
